Radiology
Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals Department of Radiology operates in all radiological examination areas, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

In our Radiology Department, a large radiology team consisting of faculty members, radiology specialists, radiology technicians and medical secretaries provides medical services.

All of the direct examinations in our department are carried out by experienced radiology technicians under the control of radiology specialists. Examinations are immediately reported in medical emergencies or informed by the clinician.

Direct radiological examinations are performed in the Department of Radiology with digital or conventional x-ray systems according to their cases. These examinations can be performed with portable radiography devices that can be carried to the patient's location if necessary.  Also can be done with a C-arm fluoroscopy device in the operating room.

Devices Used for Diagnostic Purposes in the Radiology Department

What are the Sub-branches in Group Florence Nightingale Radiology Department?

· Interventional Radiology: In the Radiology Medical Department, important interventions related or unrelated to cancer, are performed in the Interventional Radiology Center. These include cardiovascular diseases and vascular disorders of all organ systems, diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhages, and cancer treatment with proven quality at world standards. You can find more detailed information about  The Interventional Radiology Center at <Interventional Radiology Center>.
· Neuroradiology: In this unit, diseases of brain, spinal cord and head and neck regions is diagnosed by using imaging methods. In the Group Florence Nightingale Neuroradiology Unit, with interventional neuroradiology techniques, expert physicians and teams are successfully working to ensure that our patients receive accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
Neuroradiology, which has become one of the important sub-branches of radiology as a result of the development of medical technologies today, is divided into two separate sections:
- Diagnostic Neuroradiology: using all imaging methods used in the main discipline of radiology, the diagnosis and follow-up of central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, head-neck region and eye diseases are done.
- Interventional Neuroradiology: In this section, some diseases involving the brain, spinal cord, head and neck region and eyes are treated.
You can reach detailed information about the procedures performed in the Neuroradiology Unit at <Neuroradiology Unit>.
- Oncological Imaging: Advanced oncological imaging includes functional and molecular imaging. This helps to take an important step in the detection of tumor tissues at an early stage.

Nowadays, thanks to new generation imaging tools, diagnosis, staging, responses to treatment, and behavior of cancer diseases during the clinical course are evaluated more comprehensively. Thus, the success rate of the treatment can be increased by selecting the appropriate treatment for the type of cancer and targeted treatment planning.

Our department closely follows technological innovations in the field of Radiology

Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals, with its experience of more than 30 years, offers innovations in imaging technology to the service of our country by exceeding the world averages in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers in its advanced oncology center. On the other hand, there is and continues to be hope for a cure chance for many foreign patients who have difficulty in accessing accurate medical knowledge and new generation technologies at the same time.
Our hospital had the first installation of the PET-CT in Turkey (Computed Tomography) and also the rare PET-MRI device in 2015.
In our hospital, there are 1.5 Tesla and 3 Tesla MRI devices, multi-slice computed tomography device, computed tomography technology that provides targeted radiotherapy in moving organs, mammography and ultrasonography devices, which are high-tech products required for oncology diagnosis. In our departments,  advanced PACS and workstations, and special software that enhance cancer diagnosis, we have the same technological equipment as the world's advanced oncology imaging units.

Other oncological imaging devices available in our hospital are:

· Perfusion MRI, which includes intravenous contrast agent administration to measure the vascularization of the tumor,
· IVIM (Intravoxel Incoharent Motion), which is a newly developed Diffusion MRı technique that allows to measure tumor vascularity without injecting contrast material,
· Diffusion MRI and PET detecting cell death,
· MRI Spectroscopy used to distinguish between benign and malignant tumors.
